You will be an integral member of Imperial’s Enterprise Division, working with leading global companies (major sponsors are AstraZeneca, GSK, Bayer, Boehringer Ingelheim, MSD, BMS, Novartis, Waters Corporation, JnJ, etc.) and our world-class researchers to develop research and technologies through collaboration and commercialisation.

Duties and responsibilities

As a service provider to the Faculty of Medicine supporting academics in their interactions with industry activities, your main duties will include supporting the Director of Industry Partnerships and Commercialisation (IPC), Faculty of Medicine and the IPC Senior Executives and Executives as appropriate in:

  • Promoting College’s research capabilities and licensing portfolio and securing collaborative research and commercialisation income;
  • Assessment of research discoveries, analysis and evaluation, and advancement of technologies through to market adoption via collaboration with industry, access to translational funds, licensing or spin out;
  • Managing industry partnerships and key stakeholder relationships.
  • Mapping College research capabilities specific to industry partners’ areas of research interests
  • Marketing, communications and event planning around University-Industry partnerships and innovation

Essential requirements

We are looking for applicants with passion for understanding industry-academia collaborations and commercialisation. To be successful in this role you will have essential experience in providing dedicated support for senior professional services and academic staff, as well as experience in relationship and/or project management in a medicine, academic or business environment (e.g., pharma, biotech, medical devices etc.).  An understanding of the academic environment, and in particular, university funding mechanisms and technology commercialisation, preferably gained through previous experience of working within HEI or industry is essential.

Strong delivery focus, excellent communication and administration skills coupled with an understanding of the academic environment are also essential.

This is a Full Time and Open-ended role based at the South Kensington Campus but with regular travel to all other relevant campuses for Faculty of Medicine (Hammersmith, St Mary, Charing Cross, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital) as and when required.
