Event description

There is increasing importance in supporting academic staff to create impact through knowledge exchange activities.  Having an overview of the policy drivers, academic motivations and modes of Knowledge Exchange are essential in supporting academics to increase impact and diversify income streams, and making your more successful in your first Knowledge Exhcange role.  

This course will introduce you to the KE landscape providing you with a firm foundation of knowledge, resources, tips and insights across everything you need to support the wider KE context, working with stakeholders, understanding commercialisation in al its forms and how to communicate innovation. 

The induction programme runs over 6 months, with face to face and online sessions. Delegates will also be matched with a certified KEUK mentor, someone working in KE for that extra support - everything you need to feel confident in a new role in an unfamiliar sector.

Please note this is a members only programme.

 

Training outcomes

Develop the knowledge and confidence to convey to others the value of KE inside and outside of your organisation for social, economic and environmental impact, including the different modes and ways to deliver KE 
To understand the national KE policy and the funding environment
Knowing where to access reliable and high quality information and best practice in KE that will support you in your role
Understanding what skills/qualities/behaviours are relevant to successful KE professionals / practitioners

Develop confidence in how you can create impact within your role and institution

Who should attend?

This course is designed as an induction programme for those new to Knowledge Exchange roles in universities, to provide a view of the landscape, policy influences and the breadth and depth of KE in all its guises. 

Delegates should:

Have a current role within knowledge exchange

  • Be based in a UK member HEI
  • Be new to the knowledge exchange sector, under 12 months experience
