As some of you may know, Alasdair Cameron, Director of Strategic Engagement will be moving on from PraxisAuril in the next few months. Alasdair has been fundamental to the success of merging PraxisUnico with AURIL (Association for University Research and Industry Links), where he served as Executive Director for over 5 years.
It’s been nearly four years since Alasdair and I first began to explore the opportunity to bring our two KE communities together to form PraxisAuril. In creating a single organisation to serve and represent the KE community in the UK, we strengthened our voice and our capacity to do more and better for all our members and stakeholders. Alasdair was critical to the success of that merger and how we developed the new organisational strategy together. In the last three years we’ve introduced many new initiatives, focussing on professional development for and promoting the work of KE practitioners – whilst embracing a broader set of themes and representing and serving a wider range of professional perspectives. The 2020 experience catalysed yet more innovation and digital platforms are here to stay, which means that we too need to continue to evolve the PrA offer. We’ve lots more still to do… and in 2021/22 this will mean a renewed focus on engaging and supporting the next generation of KE practitioners to volunteer their time and expertise to support the future of the KE profession. Exciting times ahead, and you will hear more from me next week about some of those plans, but for now, thank you to Alasdair for his commitment to and continuing support for PraxisAuril and the KE profession.
