Innovate 2014 offered a fantastic opportunity for networking and gaining insights into the current state of UK innovation. PraxisUnico exhibited on both days and it was great to see so many members there!
It was also exciting to see the technologies of many young companies which developed out of university research, and to speak to many companies, from the UK and overseas, who are looking to work with British universities.
Among others, we were delighted to meet Braci Ltd,a wireless portable electronic solution for the hearing impaired; integrated European defence company MBDA UK Ltd; Qioptiq, a leading designer and manufacturer of photonic products, and orthopedics and traumatology company TDI-SA - all of which were keen to hear from and listen to research commercialisation practitioners. If you're interested in working with companies like these, please get in touch: info@praxisunico.org.uk.
There are undoubtedly many challenges facing technology transfer professionals and working with industry partners can offer many opportunities to flourish. PraxisUnico's new series of industry-partnered events can help build mutual understanding and insight into best practice to help practitioners develop and apply their skills. The first event in the series, Driving academic-industry partnerships: the ICT sector, is open for registration now.
