Research England has launched a new fund to drive innovation in research and knowledge exchange in higher education. The RED Fund commits up to £25 million in annual funding with an ongoing application and approval process, meaning that potential bidders can plan strategically but also act as opportunities arise providing they meet with at least one of the current RE priorities:
- Delivering Industrial Strategy through knowledge exchange, including addressing challenges and opportunities in university commercialisation policy and practice.
- Collaborations in research
- Creating opportunities to consolidate existing, or develop new opportunities, for international collaborations
There may also be calls for proposals in response to specific policy priorities as UKRI strategy develops. Research England expects funded projects to be collaborative, bringing together support from other partners including business, universities, and other public agencies. Full details can be downloaded from the Research England website.
