Research England has published three documents that will help higher education institutions (HEIs) prepare for the upcoming consultation on the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF). The documents are:
Summary KEF call for evidence responses: key points that have emerged from evidence submitted to Research England on suitable approaches to – and data to use in – the KEF.
KEF Cluster analysis report: the KEF metrics model proposes using a number of clusters based around key characteristics, measurable at a national scale (such as research income, number of researchers). In this document, Dr Tomas Ulrichsen discusses the approach to clustering and some of the options for further development of this tool.
KEF Technical note: the role of other UKRI data sources in the KEF's development.
The full announcement can be read on Research England's website. A date for the full KEF consultation is still to be announced. PraxisAuril welcomes comments from members at any time on the KEF's development and eventual implementation. We will be keeping track of KEF announcements and comments on a dedicated webpage.
