The PraxisAuril KE Awards celebrate the people, partnerships and creativity that are not only at the heart of the UK’s knowledge exchange (KE) endeavour, but vital in driving UK economic growth and making a positive difference to the lives of individuals and wider society.
We are delighted to announce that entries are now open for the 2023 KE Awards, which will take place in Leeds during the week of 20th November. Entries across seven award categories are open until 8pm, Sunday 24th September.
Organised by the UK’s professional association for KE practitioners, the PraxisAuril KE Awards celebrate the many individuals and teams that create sustained impact from the UK’s world-class research base with a diverse range of partners and programmes.
Telling the stories of innovation and impact is crucially important for the sector and our celebration of outstanding performance offers huge potential to share and apply learning in new areas. As ever, we continue to review KE award categories to reflect priority areas for KE, to engage new audiences, and to extend the profile and understanding of knowledge exchange activities by a broader range of stakeholders. Last year’s winner of the Net Zero Award, Joe Flanagan, Project Manager at the University of Salford said:
I was greatly honoured to receive the Net Zero Award on behalf of the Energy House 2.0. The award highlights the enduring power of perseverance as the KE process can be arduous, but after five years of dedication, witnessing our vision come to fruition and the recognition from our peers reminds us that even amidst the challenges, the rewards make every step worthwhile.
For 2023 we have expanded our panel of judges, which will be chaired by Gurmit Kler, former Director of Business Engagement & Research Impact at the University of Birmingham. Gurmit continues to be a champion for KE and is committed to the sector’s professional development.
I am excited to have the honour of chairing the prestigious PraxisAuril KE Awards. Having been deeply involved in this remarkable journey over the past few years, I've had the privilege to witness first-hand the extraordinary calibre of nominees in every category. Each nominee embodies a remarkable array of skills and talent, united by their unwavering dedication to driving innovation and making a positive impact on our world.
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is once again supporting the PraxisAuril KE Awards and will join our celebration of KE success, notably from the diverse UKRI investments in research, innovation and infrastructure in the UK and beyond. Dr Tony Soteriou, UKRI Director of Commercialisation, said:
UKRI is proud to be working alongside PraxisAuril again this year to support the KE awards. These awards are a great way to recognise the impacts of KE and most importantly, the wide range of outstanding people across the whole country that make KE so successful in the UK.
