The UK's technology transfer and knowledge exchange community will be represented at the annual Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) meeting in Florida this week. AUTM represents American technology transfer offices and operates globally. Links with the UK are strong and participants from the USA, UK and around the world learn from exchange of international best practice on a wide variety of topics.
Dr Angela Kukula RTTP (ICR) is attending in her capacity as Chair of PraxisUnico. Maxine Ficarra (PraxisUnico Exec Director) and Sean Fielding (Exeter), PraxisUnico Board member, will be joining her in representing the organisation and its members. Sean will be discussing peer review of Knowlege Transfer Organisations with AUTM colleagues.
Dr Tony Raven (Cambridge Enterprise), on PraxisUnico's Advocacy Committee, will give a talk on University Venture Funds on Monday and will participate in an Directors' Group SIG on professional development through cross-university exchanges and visits.
Dr Malcolm Skingle (GSK), who represents industry on the PraxisUnico Board, will be taking part in two panels on Monday: 'New Models for Success in Academic Partnering' and 'Structuring Multi-party Agreements with Big Pharma: How hard can it be? The second panel will also feature Dr Iain Thomas RTTP (Cambridge Enterprise), Chair of PraxisUnico's Training Committee, and PraxisUnico Board member Tony Hickson RTTP (Imperial College).
Lita Nelsen RTTP, co-founder of Praxis and PraxisUnico Patron will join colleagues from the UK and USA at the meeting.
AUTM 2017 is one of several international meetings where PraxisUnico members will represent the UK profession this year, help to strengthen links, and exchange international learning and best practice. PraxisUnico's own annual conference will take place in Sheffield from 14-16th June, early bird tickets are available until 31st March.
