Innovation China UK Programme Office (ICUK) based at Queen Mary Innovation Ltd. is seeking mission participants from two UK companies and one academic institute in the field of sensor and sensing technology to join the UK-China Innovation Partnering Mission in Shanghai between 10th and 13th September 2017. This mission will be largely funded by the FCO Global Partnership Fund. HEI spin-outs and commercial partners are welcome to apply.
Leveraging China's ever-increasing demand and investment in technology innovation, this mission aims to help UK innovators in Internet of Things (IoT) and Sensing to partner with China in research, innovation and technology development. Technology development in these areas have been recognised as a powerful enablers by Chinese companies who want to make the transition from manufacturers to innovators with global branding and sustainable growth.
This mission will provide UK companies with the opportunities to:
Attend China Sensor Expo 2017, hear from Key Opinion Leaders and make contacts with local counterparts in China across the target market sectors.
Discuss 1-2-1 with potential partners to promote UK expertise, seek R&D and licensing opportunities in China, attract inward investment and exploit commercial opportunities in China’s growth markets.
Site visits to understand local R&D capacity and resource, collaboration models and operation mechanisms.
How to apply:
• Please return the attached application form to Shirley Lam, ICUK Project and Event Manager, s.lam@qmul.ac.uk by Friday 30th June 2017. Early submission is strongly recommended so ICUK and Chinese event organisers could undertake a partnering exercise with enterprises based in China to determine whether applicants will be offered places at the event.
• Successful applicants will be notified by mid July 2017.
Travel Reimbursement:
• A travel grant of £1,150 to cover international flights, visa and UK domestic travel will be offered to four successful applicants. Costs of local travels and 4-night accommodation in China will also be covered separately by ICUK.
