This year PraxisUnico visits Dublin and the Conference comes to Croke Park.
Croke Park may be the home of champions, but Ireland is the home of a vibrant technology and knowledge transfer community and reflects PraxisUnico's wider network. PraxisUnico represents a broader knowledge transfer base than just the UK - our network extends overseas, and many Irish technology transfer practitioners have been to PraxisUnico conferences, and attended training.
This year's Conference theme is Expanding Horizons and this is demonstrated by our choice to be located in Ireland, which provides a great opportunity to see some different ways of doing things.
The close trade links between the UK and Ireland make it a good choice to host the 2015 Conference - not just for the "craic", but also because of the resurgent comeback Ireland has made in economic terms in recent years - with an important role played by knowledge and technology transfer.
Ireland is ranked 3rd in the global innovation index, and engages particularly well with SMEs - in 2013 Ireland created 5442 net new jobs through its support to the indigenous company base, helping new companies (including spin-outs) to develop in their early years, and providing support for growth and scaling to existing companies.
Ireland has a strong record in providing direct government support for technology transfer and into commercialisation of early stage ideas – both cash and added value. There are some interesting stories to tell and to hear - we look forward to sharing them with you!
Don't forget to book your Conference place here - and don't forget to make your travel plans too!
