PraxisAuril is delighted to make available to members this chapter on Biotechnology licensing authored by Lita Nelsen, Retired Director of the Technology Licensing Office (TLO) at MIT, Cambridge USA and PraxisAuril Patron.
The chapter is based on Lita's 25 years experience at the MIT TLO and that gained through advising many other universities around the world. The material, which examines the core roles of the TTO and considers the tools and techniques for executing such, is based primarily on practice in US institutions. Policies and practices in other countries vary widely, but much can be learned by others from the US technology transfer system. The chapter concludes with a number of tempate agreements.
