Project Manager (Knowledge Exchange Professional Development): PraxisAuril

PraxisAuril is the UK’s professional association for Knowledge Exchange practitioners. We support and enable knowledge exchange and commercialisation between universities, business, Government, and other bodies, driving up standards of professionalism in our sector and enhancing impact.

Our aims:

  • To define standards of professional excellence in KE.
  • To support delivery of a comprehensive range of practically focussed professional development products, services, and tools.
  • To recognise professional achievement by promoting and highlighting effective practice and success in KE.
  • To facilitate professional exchange within and beyond the KE community, supporting effective practice and enabling excellence.
  • To advocate for the importance of effective KE locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Role Overview

The role will involve project managing the end-to-end process of training provision whilst working closely as part of a team supporting Quality, Learning Professional Development standards, and training, to deliver high quality training, which meets our member's needs.

Key Responsibilities

Training Development & Design

  • Lead the end-to-end development process of new training courses, from ideation to delivery, ensuring content is relevant, engaging, and meets the highest standards of quality.
  • Explore and implement innovative training formats, including online courses, workshops, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and currency of course content.
  • Support the development activities for In-House course delivery, including identifying market gaps, trainer engagement and costing.
  • Work with the Events Team to optimise delivery and ensure client, and delegate satisfaction.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry experts, thought leaders, and potential collaborators to enhance the depth and breadth of training offerings.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and membership teams to promote training courses and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Market Research and Analysis

  • Commission market research to identify gaps in existing training offerings and potential areas for expansion.
  • Analyse competitor offerings and industry trends to position PraxisAuril as a leader in knowledge exchange training.

Strategic Vision

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including members, industry experts, and internal teams to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the field.
  • Work with Senior Leadership Team colleagues to establish PraxisAuril as the national standard-setting body for KE.

  • Ability to communicate with a variety of volunteer/members, frequently at senior levels.
  • Must be able to work to a high standard of accuracy and have excellent level of spoken and written English

Person Specification

  • Demonstrable experience of current practice in Knowledge Exchange and the needs of knowledge exchange teams and individuals, ideally from within a Higher Education Institute, or related environment.
  • Experience or understanding of scoping and designing training programmes, continued professional development, executive education.
  • Excellent project management skills with a record of collaborating with external partners to generate income.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills.
  • Proficient level of numeracy, analytical and cost management skills.
