Birmingham has seen the biggest growth in start-ups of all UK core cities with a 95% increase in new companies in 2014-15. They saw nearly 13,000 companies set up in 2014-5, a 95% increase from 6,640 in the previous financial year.

1) Birmingham - 95% increase
2) Bristol - 83% increase
3) Manchester - 77% increase
Birmingham has both the most incubator programmes and highest number of start-ups outside of London, which was 175,385 in 2014/15, followed by Birmingham with 12,972.
